libreoffice-conference-paris-2011

libreoffice-300x97The first annual LibreOffice project’s meeting, the LibreOffice Conference, will be held in Paris from October 12th to 15th.

It will be the event for those interested in the development of free office productivity software, open standards, and the OpenDocument format generally, and is an exciting opportunity to meet Community members, developers and hackers.

The Conference facilities are spread over two locations:

  • La Cantine: La Cantine is an unique meeting place for innovators, researchers, IT entrepreneurs and FOSS projects. La Cantine is the nexus of many ongoing IT projects and innovations around Paris.

  • IRILL (Free Software Research Institute): This institute is a research laboratory of the French University Paris Diderot and the INRIA. It has conference rooms and will host the ODF Master Class and the Marketing Track.

This year we have a five distinct tracks, but only four will be open for the call for papers. The fifth one, the « Technical Bird of Feather Sessions » does not need a call for papers as it will be a series of 10 minutes quick presentation and discussions. Interested speakers will be able to register themselves on the spot.

The final deadline for the conference proposals is on Monday the 8th of August. http://conference.libreoffice.org/submit-your-paper/
